Hey friends, welcome back to real life, real faith, real God. I'm Tracy Glass, and this is part two of our journey through chapter two of my book, Get Up Girl, Let's Go. And if you miss part one, I encourage you to go back and listen because we talked about creating a life map and uncovering the experiences that shaped us. Today I want to talk about something we all struggle with, and that is contradictions. Those moments in life that simply don't make sense. The seasons where you ask, God, why? Why did that relationship end? Why did that betrayal happen? Why did I lose someone I love? Why did the diagnosis come? Why did the door close? Why did I go through that heartbreak? Why did I feel abandoned? And why do I still feel stuck? Friend, contradictions are painful because they challenge our understanding. In chapter two, I share this devotional thought. Sometimes contradictions don't make sense, especially when you feel like you did everything right. And honestly, many women listening today know that feeling. You've tried to love people well, you've tried to do the right thing. You prayed, you trusted God, you sacrificed, you gave your best, and still life hurt you. That's where many women become discouraged. Because pain can make us question God's goodness, our purpose, our worth, and our future. But one thing God showed me was this. Contradictions are often places of spiritual growth. In Isaiah 55, 9, it says, For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Sometimes we cannot understand what God is doing while we are in the middle of it. But God sees the full picture. And one of the hardest things about spiritual maturity is learning to trust God when life does not make sense. In this chapter, I write about how God can use contradictions to mature us spiritually if we allow him. That doesn't mean God caused every painful thing, but it does mean he can redeem it. He can take broken seasons and produce wisdom. He can take rejection and produce strength. He can take grief and produce compassion. And he can take heartbreak and produce healing. Romans 5 says that trials develop endurance, character, and hope. And sometimes the strongest women are not the women who avoided pain. They are the women who allow God to transform them through it. One thing I've learned is this pain will either harden you or mature you. Some women become bitter, others become wiser. Some women stay stuck in victimhood. Others allow God to heal them and grow them. And healing doesn't happen because time passes. Healing happens because surrender happens. That's why this chapter asks difficult questions. Where did you get stuck? What wounded you? What patterns developed? What seasons made you fearful? What seasons made you feel alone? Those are hard questions, but honest questions create space for us to heal. I believe many women are exhausted because they've been carrying emotional weight that God never intended them to carry alone. And maybe today God is saying, daughter, let me do the heavy lifting. You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to understand everything. You just have to keep trusting Him step by step. One of the most beautiful lines in this chapter says, Jesus Christ is our champion, reaching down his hand to lift us out of the pit. Friend, what an image. That's what freedom looks like. Not pretending the pain never happened, but allowing God to lead you through it. So before we close today, I want you to ask yourself, what contradiction in my life have I been struggling to trust God with? Take that honestly to Him. Let's pray. Father, I thank you that even when life feels confusing, you are still faithful. Help every woman listening today trust you in the middle of her contradictions. Heal the wounds that still bring fear, disappointment, and confusion. Teach her how to surrender her pain to you instead of carrying it alone.
