Hey there, I'm Tracy. This is real life, real faith, real God. You're in the right place to get real. Real about life, real about your faith, and real with God. This is your moment to pause, take a deep breath, and stop pretending everything's fine if it isn't. Because God can handle your truth. He's not looking for perfect, he's looking for present. So whether you're feeling struggling with faith or struggling to hold on, you're not alone. Let's meet with him. Just as we are right here, right now. Hey friends, welcome back to real life, real faith, real God. I'm Tracy Glass, and this is part two of our journey through chapter one of my book, Get Up Girl, Let's Go. And if you missed part one, I want to encourage you to go back and listen because we started unpacking what it means to identify where the stuck started. This series is all about helping women heal emotionally, grow spiritually, and move forward into the freedom God has for them. And I would love for you to continue tracking this journey with me by grabbing a copy of my book. Again, it's Get Up Girl, Let's Go by Tracy Hester on Amazon. And yes, it was written in my previous name. Today I want to talk about what keeps us stuck. And this episode is entitled Breaking Free from What's Been Holding You Back. Because sometimes the hardest chains to break are the invisible ones. Yes, the ones we cannot see. In chapter one, I talked about invisible chains and fetters. A fetter is something that restricts movement, something that keeps us emotionally tied down. And many women are carrying emotional weights that nobody else can see. Fear of rejection, shame from past mistakes, toxic relationship cycles, hiding pain, fear of failure, guilt, abandonment wounds, people pleasing, distrust, comparison, insecurity, anger, and even disappointment with God. And after a while, those things begin shaping how we think, love, trust, and live. Unhealed wounds don't just disappear, they often become filters, filters through which we see ourselves, filters through which we see relationships, and sometimes even filters through which we see God. One of the things I realized in my own healing journey was this I had become really good at hiding. I stayed busy, I helped everybody else, I served, I volunteered, I kept it moving. But underneath all of that, my heart was hurting. And sometimes we think staying busy means we're healed. But busy and heal are not the same thing. You can serve and still be hurting, you can smile and still be broken, you can encourage others while secretly feeling empty yourself. And I think so many women live there. We become caretakers, fixers, encouragers, rescuers. Meanwhile, nobody realizes we're drowning emotionally. There came a moment during my divorce journey where my daughter left me a note that simply said, Mom, I need you to survive. That moment broke something open in me because I realized I had spent so much time trying to appear strong that I wasn't allowing myself to heal honestly. And maybe somebody listening today has been pretending to, pretending you're strong, pretending it doesn't hurt, pretending you're fine, pretending you're over it, pretending you trust again, pretending you're not angry. But God is not asking you to pretend, He's asking you to trust Him enough to heal. Healing requires honesty. And honesty can feel terrifying because many of us were taught to suppress our emotions instead of process them. Some women listening today grew up believing don't talk about family issues, just pray about it. Push through, be strong, don't let people see you cry. But suppress pain doesn't disappear, it just settles deeper. And eventually it begins affecting every area of our lives. That's why it's so important that we heal because what stays hidden often stays in control. One of the enemy's greatest strategies is isolation. In the book, I talk about the voice of tar, and tar says this don't talk about it. Nobody will understand you. Hide your pain, stay isolated, you'll never change. You'll always struggle. Friend, those are not the words of God. God's voice says, I am with you. You are loved, you are not disqualified, you are not broken. Freedom is possible, healing is available. Your story is not over. The woman at the well believed her story disqualified her. She had some history, a reputation, she had broken relationships, and she had shame. And yet Jesus intentionally met her in the middle of her mess. He didn't avoid her, he didn't condemn her, he offered her living water. And I believe Jesus still meets women at the well today. Women carrying shame, women carrying heartbreak, women carrying hidden wounds, and women exhausted from pretending. You know, Jesus is not intimidated by your pain. Sometimes we think if people knew my story, they would reject me. But God already knows your story completely and still God deeply loves you. That truth changes everything. So today I want to encourage you. Stop agreeing with the pit. Stop partnering with the lies that say, I'll never change, I'll always struggle, I'm too damaged, and nothing good is ahead for me. Those thoughts are not your future. Your pain may explain you, but it does not define you. God still has purpose for your life. And freedom often begins one honest step at a time. Maybe your next step is asking for help, joining a community, going to counseling, journaling honestly, forgiving, grieving, setting boundaries, and even talking to God honestly again. Whatever your step is, take it. Because healing is a journey and God walks it with you. Let's pray. Father, thank you that freedom is possible through you. Break every invisible chain that has kept your daughters stuck in fear, shame, disappointment, and pain. Give them courage to trust you again. Lead them one step at a time toward freedom. Help them stop hiding and start healing. And remind them that their story is not over. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Thank you so much for joining me today on Real Life, Real Faith, Real God. I hope today's episode encourages you to stop hiding, stop agreeing with the pit, and begin trusting God with the deeper places of your heart. Healing may not happen overnight, but freedom begins the moment we become honest before God and take the next step forward. And friend, you don't have to walk this journey alone. If today's episode encouraged you, please share it with another woman who may need hope and healing right now. And don't forget to grab your copy of Get Up Girl Let's Go by Tracy Hester. Again, available on Amazon and written under my previous name. Next episode, we'll continue our chapter-by-chapter journey together as we unpack another powerful chapter from the book. Until next time, remember, your past does not disqualify you, your pain does not define you, and your story is not over. God is still leading you forward. Get up, girl, let's go. Thanks for taking a few moments to meet with God today. I pray this moment reminded you that you're not alone, you're not forgotten, and you don't have to carry it all. Whatever real looks like for you right now, there is a real faith and a real God walking with you in. Until next time, keep showing up, keep being honest, and keep trusting the one who never lets you go.
