Hey there, I'm Tracy. This is real life, real faith, real God. You're in the right place to get real. Real about life, real about your faith, and real with God. This is your moment to pause, take a deep breath, and stop pretending everything's fine if it isn't. Because God can handle your truth. He's not looking for perfect, he's looking for present. So whether you're feeling strong in your faith or struggling to hold on, you're not alone. Let's meet with him, just as we are right here, right now. Hello and welcome back to Real Life, Real Faith, Real God. This is your host, Tracy Glass. Last episode, we talked about that place so many of us have been, where we have quietly said, I'll never be in another relationship again. But today we're stepping into the next layer. Because after the pain begins to settle, after healing starts to take place, there comes a moment where questions begin to arise. And maybe you've asked them two. Three questions. Am I ready? Where would I even start? And what if I get hurt again? All valid questions. And they're not small questions, real questions that deserve real answers. I remember wrestling with those exact thoughts. They didn't just pass through my mind once. I had to sit with them. I had to pray about them. And I question everything. Because when you've been hurt deeply, it's not just about wanting to love again. It's about wondering if you can survive it again. Or what if what happened happens again? And that's where fear tries to step in. Fear tells us don't risk it. Stay where it's safe. Don't open that door again. But here's what I learned: fear will always try to keep you stuck. Even when God is trying to move you forward. After about three years of going through a deep healing process, something in me began to shift. Again, it wasn't rushed. I didn't feel like I needed to jump into anything. But what I felt comfortable in doing was to take one small step in trying to date again. And I'll be honest with you, that step felt big because even though I had healed, there was still a question in the back of my mind of what if I get hurt again? And maybe you're there right now. You've done some healing. Maybe you've come a long way, but that question still lingers. So let's talk about it. The question is, what if I get hurt again? And here's the truth. Healing doesn't mean you'll never experience pain again. It means pain won't have the same power over you. I want us to sit with that again. And I'm going to repeat it one more time. Healing doesn't mean you'll never experience pain again. It means pain won't have the same power over you. And that's the difference. Before healing, pain can break you, it can define you, it can keep you stuck. But after healing, pain becomes something you can process, something you can bring to God, something that doesn't destroy you. And that changed everything for me because I realized my heart wasn't in my hands alone. It was now in God's hands. And that meant I didn't have to control everything. I didn't have to figure everything out. I didn't have to protect myself from every possible outcome. I just had to trust God one step at a time. And maybe that's what you need to hear today. You don't have all the answers, you don't even have a full plan. You don't need to know exactly how it's going to turn out. You just need to take the next step with God. Because readiness isn't about certainty. It's about trust. It's about knowing, God, my heart is in your hands. And that doesn't mean you ignore wisdom. It doesn't mean you ignore red flags. And it sure doesn't mean you stop guarding your heart. It means you're no longer led by fear. You're led by faith. And that's a very different place to live from. I also had to learn something else during this season. And that was healing after a broken relationship. That it isn't about pretending the brokenness never happened. And it wasn't about ignoring my past. And it wasn't about acting like it didn't affect me. Instead, it was all about remembering who I was in God. Because somewhere along the line, pain can make you forget who you are. It can make you question your worth. It can make you question your identity. And it sure can make you question your future. But I thank God for healing because God's healing can bring everything back. It can remind you you are still whole, you are still loved, and you are still chosen. And for me, that meant learning to trust God in a deeper way, to trust that He could see what I couldn't see, to trust that He would guide me, to trust that He would protect me from anything and anyone that did not have my best interests at heart. And I love this picture I had in my mind during this time of God being my big brother. And just like a big brother, he was watching over me, he was protecting me, he was standing in the gap where I couldn't see clearly. And that brought me so much peace. Because I wasn't walking into the unknown alone. And you're not either. If you're asking the question, where do I even start? I say start small. How about start with prayer? Start with honesty. Start with being open to what God may be doing in your heart. And if you're asking, what if I get hurt again? Remember this. You are not who you used to be. You are healing. You are growing and you're becoming more aware, more grounded, more aligned, and certainly you have more wisdom. And that means you're going to respond differently. You're going to choose differently, and you're going to walk differently. Not perfectly, but wisely. So here's what I want you to reflect on today. Am I willing to trust God with my heart one step at a time? Not five steps, not the whole journey, just the next step. Let's pray. God, you know the questions we carry. You know the fears we don't always say out loud. And you also know the desires in our hearts to love again. God, I ask you that you bring peace where there is fear, clarity where there is confusion, and courage where there is hesitation. Help us not to rush ahead, but also not to stay stuck. Teach us how to trust you with every step. Remind us that our hearts are safe in your hands and that we are never walking this journey alone. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. I want to remind you that you don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to take the next step. I also want to remind you to head to the description page on Buzz Sprout for this episode. And there you can download a free guide. And it's called Restored and Ready: A Faith Journey to Heal, Guard, and Prepare to Love Again. And it's a reflective guide that will go over some of the things that were addressed in episode one and also episode two. All right, so I will see you in the next episode. Thanks for tuning in to Real Life for Faith, Real God. Have a blessed day. Thanks for taking a few moments to meet with God today. I pray this moment reminded you that you're not alone, you're not forgotten, and you don't have to carry it on. Whatever real looks like for you right now, there is a real faith and a real God walking with you in it. Until next time, keep showing up, keep being honest, and keep trusting the one who never lets you go.
