Hey there, I'm Tracy. This is real life, real faith, real God. You're in the right place to get real, real about life. Real about your faith and real with God. This is your moment to pause. Take a deep breath and stop pretending everything's fine if it isn't, because God can handle your truth. He's not looking for perfect.

He's looking for present. So whether you're feeling strong in your faith. Or struggling to hold on. You're not alone. Let's meet with him just as we are right here, right now.

Hey everybody. Welcome back to real life, real Faith, real God. I'm Tracy, and today we're gonna continue our conversation about our heavenly identity. Well, let's kick it off with me asking you a question. When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you like your reflection or are you your own worst critic?

I think if we were honest, we would all say that there is something that we don't like about ourselves when we look in the mirror, research shows that almost 80% of women over the age of 18 are unhappy with the image they see in the mirror. American women between 18 and 78 will spend nearly a quarter of a million dollars in their lifetime trying to change what they don't like about themselves.

We want to display a positive image. But if we're honest, many of us don't enjoy looking in the mirror because we don't understand our true identity in Christ. You see, identity is deeper than what we see on the outside. According to psychologists, they define identity as self-image or individuality.

Sociologists define identity as our role in society. Dictionaries say identity is the distinguishing character or personality of an individual. But here's the truth. If we only define ourselves by outward things, our appearance, our job, our relationships, we will always be left searching for more. That's why so many people say, I need to find myself, but think about it.

If you need to find yourself. Does that mean somewhere along the way you lost yourself? Did a trauma breakup a failure or a life change? Steal the identity you thought you had. Most of us, when we lose something, go back to where we think we lost it. And sometimes we do the same with our identity. But here's the thought I wanna leave with you today.

What if God doesn't want you to go back? What if he wants you to shed the old layers of identity that weren't truly yours in the first place? Because sometimes what we think we've lost isn't worth carrying into our future. God wants us free from emptiness, discontent, low self-esteem and anxiety because those things were never meant to define us.

John one 12 through 13 reminds us, but to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn, not with the physical birth, resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. Our earthly identity may shift. Our heavenly identity in Christ will never change.

So here's my question for you today. Are you living from an earthly identity that changes with every season of life or from a heavenly identity that is eternal, secure, and rooted in God's love? Let's pray. Lord, thank you for reminding us that we don't have to be defined by what we see in the mirror. Or by the labels the world gives us, help us to shed false identities and live fully in the truth that we are your children.

In Jesus name I pray, amen. Here's a final thought. Your reflection is not your identity. Your heavenly identity is you are more than what you see in the mirror. You are who God says you are. Thank you for tuning into real life, real faith, real God, and we'll see you next time. Thanks for taking a few moments to meet with God today.

I pray this moment reminded you that you're not alone, you're not forgotten, and you don't have to carry it all. Whatever real looks like for you. Right now, there is a real faith and a real God walking with you in it. Until next time, keep showing up. Keep being honest and keep trusting the one who never.

Lets go.
