Today’s episode of Real Life, Real Faith, Real God asks a simple but powerful question: When you look in the mirror, what do you see?

So many of us struggle with self-image, but God reminds us that our reflection isn’t our true identity. Through John 3:3 and John 1:12–13, we’ll discover that while our earthly identity may change, our heavenly identity in Christ never does.

Hey there, I'm Tracy. This is real life, real faith, real God. You're in the right place to get real, real about life. Real about your faith and real with God. This is your moment to pause. Take a deep breath and stop pretending everything's fine if it isn't, because God can handle your truth. He's not looking for perfect.

He's looking for present. So whether you're feeling strong in your faith. Or struggling to hold on. You're not alone. Let's meet with him just as we are right here, right now.

Hello everyone and welcome back to real life, real Faith, real God. I'm Tracy, and I'm so glad that you're here today. I want us to start with a simple truth. Jesus knew who he was. During his three and a half years of ministry, people tried to put labels on him. Some said he was a prophet. Others thought he was John the Baptist come back to life.

But in Matthew 16, when Jesus asked his disciples, who do you say I am, Peter Boldly answered, you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. And Jesus affirmed it. Yes, I am. He didn't let people's opinions, doubts, or false labels shake his confidence. That's powerful because if Jesus, our example, stood firm in his identity, then we can too.

And here's the truth. When we come to Christ, we became new creations. Our old identity doesn't get to define us anymore. We step into a heavenly identity that is unshakeable no matter what. Life froze our way. Scripture tells us exactly who we are. We belong to God. We are still with the Holy Spirit. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we are God's masterpiece.

His beautiful, ongoing work of art. That means our identity isn't fragile. Temporary, or based on our circumstances, but instead it's rooted in the unchangeable love of God. But I'll be honest with you, living this out in real life is not always easy. There was a season after my divorce where I struggled deeply with who I was.

I remember telling my counselor, I just want to get to the other side of this mess. She said something that stopped me in my tracks. What if God is using this mess to shape you into the woman he wants you to be in the next chapter of your life? Hmm. That changed my perspective. I realized God wasn't punishing me.

He was shaping me. He was writing a new storyline for my life that I couldn't see yet. Even though I didn't feel qualified, God asked me to step into leading a woman's Bible study, a woman's Bible study that yes, stretched me, but it also helped me see who I really was in him. And that's how it often works.

Discovering your heavenly identity is a process. It takes faith. It takes obedience and it takes learning to trust God's perspective instead of our own. So I want to encourage you today, if you've been measuring yourself by old labels, past mistakes, or even by the opinions of others, let that go. God calls you his own.

He seals you with his Holy Spirit. He calls you his masterpiece, and that is who. You are. Let's pray. Father, thank you for calling us yours. Help us to stand strong in our heavenly identity no matter what we face. Teach us to release the old labels and step into the fullness of who you've created us to be.

Remind us daily that we are your masterpiece chosen and dearly loved. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. So thank you so much for joining me today on real life, real faith, real God, and if this episode encouraged you, share with a friend who may need this reminder, and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss what's coming next.

Lets go.
